Located just east of downtown San Diego, El Capitan is San Diego County's oldest reservoir. This fine fishery is full of northern strain largemouth bass, but most locals believe some Florida strain largemouth have found their way into it. Other noted species include blue catfish; channel catfish, bluegill, and black crappie.
